I hope you’re having a great week! As you might be aware, I recently celebrated the 100th episode of my podcast and to say thank you I am offering a free eBook called 100 Quotes for Better Mental Health where I collate all of the end-of-episode reflection quotes from my first 100 shows. And yes, it really is free! Download it here and if you like it then please share it.
So… greetings and salutations, and welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week and a brilliant weekend!
My favourite things this week:
1. ‘Learning’ from @lizandmollie [via Instagram]
Back to @lizandmollie again! Frankly, for me it’s the account that keeps on giving, with meaningful ideas presented in simple ways. I’ve said in a few past episodes that a lot of miscommunication comes from not explaining the ‘why?’ and it’s something I encourage you to bear in mind. Note that I’m not talking about justification — you do not owe anyone an explanation for your choices, especially if they’re based on kindness — however gently explaining where you’re coming from/what your intention is can often diffuse a lot of misunderstandings. Anyway this post explains why people learn better when they understand the ‘why’ behind something.
2. A note about arguments from @tinybuddhaofficial [via Instagram]
“You’re not supposed to win or lose arguments. You’re supposed to reach a mutual understanding and agreement. Otherwise, you both lose.” Sounds like something I might have said in the podcast once or twice… please memorise that and remind yourself of it daily!
3. A note about self belief from @calm [via Instagram]
I’m going to sum this post up in three words: stop bullying yourself!
And, again, if you would like my free eBook 100 Quotes for Better Mental Health then you can click here to download it.
