Thursday Thoughts: the weekly Let’s Talk About Mental Health newsletter (28 October, 2021)

Hello Talkers!

I have had a bit of a challenging week in terms of too much to do and not enough time, and thankfully I was able to recognise what was going on and then channel all of that into next week’s episode of the podcast about calm (which will be released on Sunday). So I guess every cloud does have a silver lining!

Today’s newsletter content is an all-Thrive affair, in that my three favourite posts of the week come via @thrive on Instagram… however, they’re all reposts from other accounts, so check out the original authors (in the comment/link of each) and give them some love!

As I mentioned in last week’s newsletter and also in the latest episode of the podcast (Episode 102, Let’s Talk About… Anxiety), I recently created a free eBook to celebrate the 100th episode of my podcast called 100 Quotes for Better Mental Health where I have collated all of the end-of-episode reflection quotes from my first 100 shows. And yes, it really is free! Download it here and if you like it then please share it (and leave me a comment to let me know!).

So… greetings and salutations, and a warm welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week and a brilliant weekend!

Jeremy 😃

My favourite things this week:

1. ‘Self focus’ from @thrive [via Instagram]

“Today I want you to think about all that you are instead of all that you are not.”

2. ‘Patience’ from @thrive [via Instagram]

“The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit.”

3. ‘Self kindness’ from @thrive [via Instagram]

“Talk to yourself like you talk to someone you love.”

And, again, if you would like my free eBook 100 Quotes for Better Mental Health then you can click here to download it.

Tip of the week for better mental health:

Don’t reinvent the wheel.

Quote of the week:

You have power over your mind — not external events. Realise this, and you will find strength.
