Thursday Thoughts: the Let’s Talk About Mental Health newsletter (10 February, 2022)

Hello Talkers!

I’ve been making a conscious choice to share more personal stuff in my work lately; in the episode that will be coming out this Sunday (Feb 13) I’m opening up about some traumatic stuff I was working through over the last few months, and in my latest Better Mental Health video, Being Weird Helps Your Mental Health, I’ve shared a bit about how leaning in to what makes me unique/weird has been one of the best things I’ve ever done for my mental health and wellbeing. I’m not going to pretend that it doesn’t feel a bit challenging to continuously share so much of personal stuff, because it does, but some personal discomfort is a small price to pay for creating content that feels like it actually says something… and that’s what matters most to me.

Speaking of my YouTube channel, I’d love to know what sort of content you would like to see from my Better Mental Health videos each week; the channel is a place where I can deal with short, sharp topics and provide more bite-sized tips and advice rather than going more in-depth like I do in the podcast… so if there are topics about mental health and wellbeing you’d like to see me cover then let me know by filling out this form on my website. I have lots of content already planned out but I want to be sure that what I’m creating is what people want, so let me know!

So… greetings and salutations, and a very warm welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week!

Jeremy 😃

P.S. Help me keep my work ad-free by becoming a supporter on Patreon; for $3 AUD per month you’ll get a shout-out in the weekly transcript for each podcast episode, or for $8 AUD a month you’ll receive that plus an exclusive monthly video where I share what’s coming up on the podcast and YouTube channel for the next month… and you can submit your questions about mental health and my work which I will answer in the video. Click here to become a supporter and I will be eternally grateful! Thank you 🙂
