Thursday Thoughts: the Let’s Talk About Mental Health newsletter (3 March, 2022)

Hello Talkers!

This year has been exhausting… and it’s only the 3rd of March. This week in particular has been challenging, thanks to the escalation of global events. I try to keep my work as non-news-focused as possible, to provide something of a mental break when you engage with my content, so I’m going to simply remind you of two important things for looking after yourself:

  1. Focus on what is within your direct control (i.e. What you do and say, and what you choose to do with your feelings)
  2. Remember that you can still influence things outside of your direct control, by standing up and making your voice heard… and I’m sorry to be this blunt, but hitting ‘like’ on a social media post doesn’t do anything. Make your voice heard.

So without any further ado… greetings and salutations, and a very warm welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week!

Jeremy 😃

My favourite inspiring things this week:

My absolute favourite thing this week:

This made me laugh because it’s exactly what happens in my brain when I try to meditate (which is why I’ve found just having 5-10 minutes of mindfulness, preferably outside, to be more effective… each to their own!)

My favourite posts from my channels this week:

Just quickly: you may have noticed a change in when I share my reels/videos vs regular posts on my @jeremygodwinofficial account. I’ve done that so the videos are showing to more people worldwide at the times they’re more likely to be online; it now means they’re being published early morning here in Australia, which is early afternoon in the US & Canada and early evening in the UK & Europe. Hope it didn’t confuse anyone but the change needed to be made!

My favourite quote this week:

“No trumpets sound when the important decisions of our life are made. Destiny is made known silently.”

Agnes de Mille
