Thursday Thoughts: the Let’s Talk About Mental Health newsletter (31 March, 2022)

Hello Talkers!

It’s the last day of March! How did that happen?!

Since we’re now past the equinox (equal length of day and night), that means those of you in the Northern hemisphere are (hopefully) enjoying the early signs of Spring while we in the Southern hemisphere are seeing the beginnings of Autumn (Fall) with cooler evenings and the trees slowly starting to change colour. I, for one, am very happy about that because Autumn is my favourite season (closely followed by Spring) – I love the cooler weather and that’s probably got something to do with the fact that I’m a Winter baby (born early July when it’s proper Winter here in Australia). I am not kidding when I tell you I have been checking the weather forecast daily to see when it will be cool enough to make soup, because soup is my all-time favourite food in the entire world, and I am delighted that this weekend will be just cool enough that I can make a big batch of roasted pumpkin soup… so you find me as a very happy individual this week. It really doesn’t take much to please me!

So without any further ado… greetings and salutations, and a very warm welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week!

Jeremy 😃

My favourite inspiring things this week:

My absolute favourite thing this week:

It felt good to hear someone else say this so I know it’s not just me that hasn’t been able to take a really good, deep and calming breath for the last 2.5 years (we had major bushfires here in Australia, not too far from my home, for months and months right before COVID then kicked off so it feels like we haven’t been able to relax since September 2019). We’re all going through a lot and it’s OK to feel exhausted. Take things one day at a time and focus on what is within your direct control.

My favourite posts from my channels this week:

My favourite quote this week:

“The only way to have a friend is to be one.”
