Thursday Thoughts: the Let’s Talk About Mental Health newsletter (28 April, 2022)

Hello Talkers!

I recently found myself rewatching one of my very first YouTube videos, filmed all the way back in January 2021, and I was deeply horrified by what I thought made for a good video back then; for starters, I was filming using a webcam so it was like watching an old-school TV show from the 90’s.

My point is that most of us (if not all of us!) have things we cringe about from our past, but we have to remember that we did the best we could at the time with the tools and knowledge we had. It’s something I explored in this week’s video about letting go (link at the end of the email) and I encourage you to think about it over the next week and begin making your peace with the stuff that has happened in the past… after all, the past has passed and it cannot be changed (but you can certainly change what you do or don’t do today and tomorrow!).

So without any further ado… greetings and salutations, and a very warm welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week!

My absolute favourite thing this week:

This is a really important message: “Self-love doesn’t mean you just accept everything about yourself as if nothing needs to change. Self-love is recognizing what needs to change and loving yourself enough to do something about it.” These are words to live by!

My favourite quote this week:

“And the trouble is, if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more.”
